Black Snake Climbing Tree

Black Snake Climbing Tree

June 2019 - We're big supporters of the black rat snakes that live in our pastures. They supposedly do a great job of helping to control field mice populations and are said to be one of the top predators of venomous copperhead and rattle snakes (which -- though not entirely uncommon in Western NC -- we've never seen around our farm). But here, we suspect, is a black rat snake 'breaking bad' (prowling for bird nests to raid).
